Once again Karl Cortis, one of our Junior College lecturers, and two other athletes gathered at 05:30 hrs for another challenge to raise awareness and donations for the Len and Jacob Wellness fund. After a 27km run, the athletes had to face terrible currents that increased the swimming distance from the usual 7km channel swim to a 13km one. It was a challenge that saw the athletes having to swim against all odds. This gruelling event finished when the athletes landed at Ħondoq Bay and ran another 13kms all the way to Ta’ Pinu Basilica. A new insight. Every event is unique and has its own challenges, but being resilient will help you overcome unexpected challenges. Do small things every day which make you uncomfortable, it will help you later on with bigger discomforts.
