The JC4Others Committee is organising the annual ‘Books for Everyone’ fundraising event. The three-day event is going to be held between Wednesday 8 and Friday 10 November, 2023. The event is held in aid of ‘’.
‘Dar Papa Franġisku’ is the first emergency shelter of its kind in Malta for homeless individuals, established in 2016. The aim of the shelter is to accommodate males between the ages of 18 and 59, who due to diverse issues, including drug and alcohol use, incarceration, mental health difficulties and familial problems among others, end up homeless. The shelter meets these individuals’ basic needs and therefore provides shelter, food, clothing, hygienic and laundry services. Dar Papa Franġisku, through social work interventions and a holistic approach, aims to serve as the bridge between being homeless and moving onto independent living or further supported accommodation.
Moreover, Dar Papa Franġisku, provides a warm meal, hygienic and laundry services all year round to individuals who are experiencing drug and alcohol use, mental health difficulties, solitude and familial difficulties amongst the many other experiences that these individuals share and trust us with.
Staff and students who would like to donate any second-hand books especially novels are cordially asked to leave them at the reception area in the Foyer by Tuesday 7 November, 2023.
