Students from the Computing and IT Department were recently invited to take part in a whole day seminar held at the University of Malta (UM), within the Faculty of ICT, as part of an activity powered by the Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC).
The seminar, Devfest, presented some of the current research being done which involves the use of, but not limited to Google technologies. The morning session included four foreign speakers, two of which work with Google. Talks varied from programming languages used to develop Android applications to Intel technologies and the Web, and also a talk about Google's initiatives and activities when it comes to diversity and inclusion.
GDSC is locally represented by Mr James Gatt, a former JC student who is currently in his second year of studies following a Computer Engineering course at UM.
