Ms Christabel Saliba, a Student Advisor at Junior College, recently spoke at the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling (NICEC) online network meeting on 21 May 2024. The event, themed "Remembering the Legacy of Ronald Sultana," involved 100 participants from Brazil, India, and Australia.
In her talk, Christabel highlighted Professor Ronald Sultana's influence on her approach to career guidance. She recalled his description of career guidance as "a bridge between everyday life and the world of work," a concept that has shaped her focus on student needs and career paths.
Christabel underscored the importance of promoting social justice in career guidance, inspired by Sultana's teachings. She shared insights from her research on green career guidance, which she conducted under the mentorship of Professor Sultana, a concept pioneered by Professor Peter Plant. This research explores the intersection of environmental and social justice in career guidance, particularly in response to climate change and the green economy.
