On Saturday 20 April 2024 a group of JC students completed their journey which started back in October at the NSTF Mini European Assembly. The team was made up of 1st year JC students Thea Abdilla, Martina Cassar Block, Eman Farrugia and Francesco Giuseppe Giorgino.
Throughout this period, they have lobbied and debated as the Italian delegation on these resolutions: Social Welfare and Inclusion; Food Security and Sustainable Agriculture; and Youth Involvement and Democracy. They campaigned with other delegations to pass amendments and presented Italy's stance and work done on the topic. Additionally, they wrote and presented the resolutions on Artificial Intelligence and Ethics, and on The Influx of Migration to Europe and Border control, which involved extensive research and preparation.
During the event, student Francesco Giuseppe Giorgino was awarded as 'Best Speaker' from the whole competition and he will be going to Brussels and Strasbourg with NSTF this summer.
The plenary sessions involved some dignitaries as chairpersons, namely, Her Excellency President Emeritus Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca and the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hon. David Agius in the final plenary at the Parliament.
The photo in the banner portrays the group of JC students in the finals with the Secretary General of the National Student Travel Foundation (NSTF), Dr Francis Stivala, and the Deputy Speaker chairing the plenary.
