Model EP is a unique opportunity for JC students to develop debating, lobbying and critical thinking skills, whilst engaging in a competition, with the final aim of becoming the national delegation participating in the International Model EP coming up in Estonia next March 2024.
The Model European Parliament is a simulation of the European Parliament for young people aged 16 – 19. Junior College students have excelled at this, winning the National Model EP competition over the past two years, and represented Malta in the Bucharest and Brussels editions.
Model European Parliament is a programme run in collaboration with Aġenzija Żgħażagħ, and involves the preparation of a small group of students. The “link teacher’s” responsibility is that of accompanying the JC group along the way through the national competition, guiding them and helping them win the international contest. In the case where the JC group wins, the link teacher will be accompanying the delegation to Estonia.
