The Advanced Level History group visited the National Archives in Rabat and had the opportunity to research primary documents related to their current studies.
The students were first shown around the building, that originally housed the Santo Spirito Hospital. Then they visited the conservation room, where they could see how documents and photos are restored and preserved. The main activity was the session where they saw the archival collections and did some research themselves. The students were divided into small groups and handed a set of documents. They then extracted particular statistics to eventually compare with the other groups.
To conclude the outing, the students walked around Mdina and enjoyed a few team-building games in the Mdina ditch gardens.
The students were accompanied by their lecturers, Ms Suzanne Gatt and Mr Sandro Sciberras.
