On Friday 15 December, the Diversity Committee of the Junior College organised a panel discussion titled ‘Free speech/ Hate speech: Should we draw a line?’. Four guests were present for the discussion. These included Mr Clayton Mercieca, head of the Directorate for Human Rights, Dr Maria Pisani, head of the Department of Youth and Community studies of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing at the University of Malta, Dr Sara Ezabe, a human rights lawyer and Mr Tim Diacono, a journalist with Lovin Malta.
Mr Francesco Frendo from the Diversity committee was responsible for chairing the panel. The discussion began between the panel members and later also included a number of very interesting questions from the students present. The event was an outstanding success and the Diversity Committee would like to thank the speakers involved as well as all those lecturers and students who attended and made this event a success.
