This sixth edition of the Annual International Multidisciplinary Conference (AIMC) organised by the Junior College, University of Malta was held at the Salini Resort in Salina Bay (St. Paul's Bay) from 13 to 15 September 2023.
Over the three days, the organisers brought together a stimulating array of five keynote speakers and numerous presentations looking into issues pertaining to mental resilience, humour theory, mathematics, leadership and biology, to name a few. The conference was structured to foster discussion between participants around the themes. This was achieved by hosting group debates and discussions following each session. During the conference, time was also allotted for lunch, and morning and afternoon tea to allow participants to continue the discussions after each session in an informal way.
Attendees included Professor Joseph Cacciattolo, Pro-Rector at the University of Malta, Mr Paul Xuereb, Principal of the Junior College, Dr Stuart Beattie from Bagnor University in Wales, Professor Villy Tsakona from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Ms Antoinette Caruana from Farsons Foundation, Professor Irene Sciriha from the University of Malta, Professor Sandro Lanfranco from the University of Malta, other academics, emerging scholars and participants from various local and international institutions.
We would like to thank especially the invited speakers, as well as the participants who attended the intensive three days of presentations and discussions.
