On Thursday 21 March, World Poetry Day was celebrated at Junior College with the collaboration of A摹enzija 呕g魔a偶ag魔. The Department of Foreign Languages organised a workshop, led by Dr Christine Borg Farrugia, to introduce students in writing poetry in a foreign language. We also had the pleasure to welcome to the College Italian author Natalino Pennisi who spoke to our students about the beauty of literature and expressing our thoughts in verse. Elizabeth Grech, who currently resides in Paris, spoke about her experience as a poet and as a translator of literature from French to English and Maltese. The beauty of poetry in the different foreign languages studied at our College was expressed by students who for the day prepared presentations, read poems, translated others to Maltese and prepared calligrammes.
