The Department of Biology is organising an engaging and informative session focused on men鈥檚 health and cancer awareness. A cancer survivor will share his personal journey, offering real-life insights and inspiration. Participants will also learn about early testing, recognising symptoms, and where to find support. The session will conclude with an overview of the work of the Malta Male Cancer Support Association and the services it provides.
The talk will be delivered by Tony Cachia, a retired intensive care nurse and cancer survivor. Tony was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2004, at a time when information and support for men with cancer were almost non-existent. The experience changed his life overnight, and after recovering, he worked to ensure no man would ever have to face cancer alone. Over the past five years, Tony has been sharing his journey and raising awareness about men鈥檚 cancers, giving talks across local communities, offices and organisations. In 2024 he joined the Malta Male Cancer Support Association (MMCSA).
All students are encouraged to attend in order to safeguard their own health or that of their loved ones.
