During the week starting 10 November 2025, a group of 9 students accompanied by Ms Graziella Mizzi and Mr Roberto Calleja, participated in the last round of meetings, as part of Erasmus+ exchange project “Fashion Revolution” in Tynset, Norway.
Students from Italy and Malta joined the Norwegian students in Nord-Østerdal Videregående Skole. As part of this experience, the participants engaged in an inspiring programme of activities, focused on the theme of Fashion Revolution. Throughout the week, they explored the effects of fast fashion and discovered creative, sustainable alternatives.
The project began with a team challenge: to design a product using wool in innovative ways. Guided by Young Entrepreneurship and FIAS, students formed international groups, built teamwork skills, and started developing environmentally conscious ideas.
A hands-on workshop at Fagertun Art Studio introduced students to the “Woolly Matters” project, where they learned wool-working techniques from artists Esther Breslin and Marius Reed. A visit to the UNESCO World Heritage town of Røros provided further insight into sustainability in practice. At FLOKK, students saw how eco-friendly principles guide modern design, while Rørosrein shared Sápmi traditions and ethical resource use.
The participants continued developing their prototypes using second-hand clothing from Save the Children Tynset, promoting reuse and circular thinking. They also learned digital communication skills by creating short promotional videos to present their concepts.
The week ended with the “Fashion Revolution” show, where teams showcased their final creations to a jury and received recognition and their certificates of participation.. Through this exchange, students gained practical design experience, cultural awareness and a deeper commitment to sustainable fashion.
This activity is coordinated by the JC International Office and co-funded through the Erasmus+ Programme.
