Ms Annick Bonello (Environmental Science) and Mr Kevin Mizzi (Physics) from Ä . F. Abela Junior College visited Nord-Østerdal videregÃ¥ende skole in Tynset, Norway from 23 to 25 September as part of an Erasmus+ job shadowing exchange programme between staff.
The experience included a tour of the school premises followed by engaging classroom observations in science subjects, as well as geology fieldwork at Ripan Nature Reserve and cultural visits to Røros and Hjerkinn. The participants had the opportunity to interact with teachers and students, gaining valuable insights into Norwegian educational practices and school culture.
Highlights included learning about reindeer conservation, exploring ice-age land formations, and enjoying traditional Norwegian food in nature. The modern school impressed with its timber-and-glass architecture and broad vocational offerings, amongst a vast range of academic subjects.
The visit fostered professional exchange, cultural appreciation, and deeper insight into Norway’s educational and environmental heritage.
This experience is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, and coordinated by the JC International Office.
