Staff and students at 臓F Abela Junior College marked the European Week for Waste Reduction with a varied programme designed to encourage responsible habits across campus. Activities included a 3D pledge tree in the Foyer and a Declutter Your Life board that encouraged students to simplify their physical spaces, digital habits, schedules, mental wellbeing and spending choices. A display inspired by The Little Green Book from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and a reminder of the well known 3R approach to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle added further practical guidance. A decomposition timeline board showed how long common materials take to break down, offering clear insight into the impact of everyday choices.
The week encouraged reflection, participation and community engagement while strengthening the College commitment to environmental responsibility under the Environmental Committee. These initiatives supported the EU Green Deal and the sustainability targets of the UN SDGs.
