This December, the Diversity Committee of the Junior College will proudly host its very own Human Rights Festival, a two-day celebration in honour of the International Day for Human Rights, which falls on December 10th. The celebrations will take place on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 December 2025, featuring two engaging events that invite students and staff to participate actively in conversations about human rights, equality, and inclusion.
Thursday 11 December – Sofa Discussions (JC Foyer, 9:00–13:00)
The school foyer will transform into a welcoming discussion space for a series of informal “Sofa Discussions.” Four guest speakers have been invited to share their insights and experiences on crucial human rights topics. Each hour, a different speaker will take the sofa to discuss; the Environment, Social Justice, Migration and Education. Students will have the opportunity to join the conversation, ask questions, and share their views in a relaxed and open setting. These discussions promise to inspire reflection and encourage everyone to think critically about the world we live in.
Friday 12 December – Panel Discussion: “Inclusion in Education: Is the Cross at a Crossroads?” (Sala 247, 10:00)
On Friday, the festival continues with a panel discussion focusing on “Inclusion in Education: Is the Cross at a Crossroads?” Distinguished speakers will lead the debate, exploring the challenges and opportunities of fostering inclusion in modern education. Students and staff are warmly invited to attend and contribute to what promises to be a lively and meaningful exchange of ideas.
