Three members of staff attended a five-day course entitled Creative and Critical Mind in Seville, Spain together with participants from Italy and Poland. The course provided an enriching environment where educators could exchange ideas and explore different approaches to teaching and learning.
The sessions focused on a wide range of themes related to creativity and critical thinking. Participants explored hemispheric brain functions through bilateral activities, reflected on definitions and typologies of creative thinking, and carried out a self-assessment of their own creative styles. The training introduced unconventional and lateral thinking strategies that can be applied in education, which were further developed into practical techniques and programmes that support the integration of creative and critical thinking in real-life classroom contexts.
An engaging highlight of the programme was an escape room challenge across Seville’s historic landmarks, which gave participants the chance to experience the city’s culture and art in an interactive way. Building on this activity, the group then designed their own curriculum-based escape room challenge to bring back to their students, ensuring that the experience will continue to inspire innovative learning practices in the classroom.
The course was attended by Ms Christine Borg Farrugia, Ms Emily Farrugia, and Ms Josette Tabone.
