teenclubJC is one of the College’s outreach initiative for teenagers between 14 and 16 years old. Six workshops were held this summer, all of which were a resounding success!
Atelier ’23 Summer Workshop Series 2025
An immersive experience for budding artists. From beginners to those with some experience at secondary schools, participants engaged in a series of sessions designed to build essential skills in drawing and painting, exploring techniques in sketching, drawing and painting. The workshops placed a lot of emphasis on creativity, self-expression and artistic growth, which allowed each participant to develop their own unique visual language. At the end of the series, participants showcased some of their completed works at the ArtHub – a proud reflection of their progress.
Biology Summer Camp 2025
Participants engaged in a variety of hands-on activities and experiments, exploring different aspects of biology in an interactive and immersive environment. Participants had the opportunity to carry out various experiments, one of which was extraction of their own DNA from cheek cells. Another amazing session was the dissection of kidneys, hearts, lungs and brain. The last session was held at Argotti gardens and participants had the opportunity to participate in various activities here including the preparation of a specimen for the herbarium. The event was a fantastic opportunity for young biologists to deepen their understanding and passion for the field.
The Design Lab – Summer Workshop Series 2025
This series of interactive workshops focusing on the fundamentals of Graphical Communication, gave participants hands-on experience in essential design techniques. The aim was to equip participants with the technical skills needed to visualise and communicate ideas clearly and effectively. From drawing 3D objects to mastering precise technical drawings, the workshops gave participants a strong foundation in design, preparing them for future creative challenges.
Economics Unlocked
Economics Unlocked is a series of introductory sessions for prospective Economics students who have no prior knowledge of the subject. This summer, participants were given a taster of the subject with a particular emphasis on issues concerning teens. Participants were also introduced to simple economic concepts and a basic understanding of how the economy works. These practical, hands-on sessions assisted students in bridging the gap and acquiring the necessary skills to ensure a smooth transition in their learning path of Economics.

Smart ACCOUNTeens
This summer, the Department of Accounting and Economics presented a series of introductory sessions for prospective accounting students who have no prior knowledge of the subject. The aim of these sessions was to assist these students bridge the gap and acquire the necessary skills to ensure a smooth transition in their learning path should they wish to choose the subject at post-secondary level. The course took a hands-on practical approach and also introduced digital accounting.
