Twenty-four JC students accompanied by their lecturers, Mr Clifton Lewis and Dott. Mireille Vila, traveled to Strasbourg between 10 and 13 May 2026 for an educational and cultural experience.
The aim of the trip was Junior College’s annual appointment with Euroscola Day, spent at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, alongside students from all over Europe. The trip combined academic activities with opportunities to explore the city’s history and traditions.
12 May was the highlight of the visit, as the group visited the European Parliament. The day started at the hemicycle where students participated in discussions with their international peers. The debates focused mainly on the European Union’s Zero Pollution Ambition. Following lunch at the Parliament, students and educators continued exchanging ideas and experiences with participants.
This trip provided our group with the opportunity to visit the picturesque district of Petite France where students enjoyed the charming canals, traditional houses, and peaceful atmosphere before ending the day with dinner at a local restaurant where they tasted regional dishes. A visit to the Museum of Fine Arts of Strasbourg allowed the group to admire important artistic masterpieces and learned about their cultural significance. The group then explored the impressive Strasbourg Cathedral, famous for its Gothic architecture and enjoyed a boat tour along the city’s waterways.
This experience contributed to broadening our students’ knowledge, deepening their intercultural understanding, and fostering meaningful connections with peers from different backgrounds, while creating unforgettable memories for everyone involved.
This experience is co-funded by the European Parliament and coordinated by the JC International Office.
