Opposition Leader Visits UM Christmas Bake Sale Supporting Mental Health

On Thursday, 4 December, the Department of Mental Health within the Faculty of Health Sciences organised its annual Christmas Bake Sale at the University’s Quadrangle. The event once again brought together staff, students, and visitors in support of mental health awareness and community engagement.

This year’s initiative was further strengthened by the visit of Opposition Leader Hon. Alex Borg, who stopped by the stand and expressed his support for the Department’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health and wellbeing. His presence highlighted the importance of collective action and public awareness in addressing mental health challenges within society.

The bake sale also welcomed Hon. Bernice Bonello, Malta’s Shadow Minister for Youth and Local Government, who took the opportunity to engage with organisers and show her support for the initiative.

The annual Christmas Bake Sale has become a valued tradition within the University community, combining festive spirit with a meaningful cause.
