The winners of the World Photography Day competition 📸

To celebrate World Photography Day 2025 on 19 August, the University of Malta invited its community to take part in a social media themed “Maltese Traditions.” Sponsored by , the contest encouraged UM students, administrative, and technical staff to capture the essence of local culture — from festas and folklore to food, family, and everyday moments that make Malta unique.

The online competition drew an impressive number of creative entries shared via social media, showcasing the community’s diverse perspectives and love for Maltese heritage. After much deliberation, the judging panel selected the following winners:
