On Thursday 18 October, the University of Malta staff and KSU commemorated Pink October.
Students and staff were invited to participate and contribute towards this initiative. The Mobile Blood Donation Unit was also on campus on the day, with a total of over sixty members of staff and students donating blood.
Those gathered for the event were welcomed by Prof. Carmen Sammut, Pro-Rector for Student and Staff Affairs and Outreach, followed by brief addresses from Mrs Michelle Muscat, Chairperson, Marigold Foundation, two cancer survivors and Mr Wilfred Kenely from RIDT.
A total of EUR 2000 was collected. Special thanks go to:
- the University Chaplain and his team who collected EUR 532
- the Office for Human Resources Management & Development who collected EUR 337
- the Food Faculty by Catermax who collected EUR 130, and
- the Faculty of Education who collected EUR 120.
