The Ministry for Education and Employment in Malta, the University of Malta and the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) have signed a membership agreement with Oracle Academy. This means that students and educators throughout Malta can benefit from free world-class industry technologies and expertly developed learning resources.
During his address, the Minister for Education and Employment Evarist Bartolo stated that cooperating with Oracle Academy marks the government’s commitment to improve the quality of the education system to the next level by providing students with the necessary computing skills across all fields.
Through this agreement both the educators and students will have access to computing education resources to enrich their knowledge in innovation, diversity and skills development in technology arenas.
Minister Bartolo said that this is a continuation towards a more holistic educational experience that prepares students for their future employment. In the last years Malta has been at the forefront amongst countries in Europe who had invested heavily in the educational technology aspect to improve the quality of schools by introducing tablet per child and 3D printers. Therefore, advancement in education by having computer science knowledge and skills is fundamental in today’s world, emphasized the Minister for Education and Employment.
Oracle Academy offers students and educational institutions a free and complete portfolio of software, curriculum, hosted technology, faculty trainings, support, and certification resources, while enabling students to acquire the 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, analysis, curiosity, communication and collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
