The Editor-in-Chief, Prof. Cristiana Sebu, and all the are happy to announce that the thirteenth issue of the official Science Journal of the Malta Chamber of Scientists, has been just published and is currently available as open access.
Xjenza Online is a peer-reviewed, free open access international journal. The scope of the journal encompasses research articles, original research reports, reviews, short communications and scientific commentaries in all fields of science. Xjenza Online has steadily been improving its quality and standards during the past years. The journal not only provides a dedicated forum for publishing high-quality research articles in all areas of science in the Maltese Islands but also serves as the main launching and training platform into scientific publishing for a wide scope of potential authors, including students and young researchers, in a peer-reviewed environment.
Over the years, the journal has evolved alongside the research community it serves. Since the first printed issue of the Xjenza in 1996, the journal has witnessed the progress of scientific effort across many disciplines. The Maltese islands are now the home to a rich and exciting scientific research as highlighted in this current issue.
As today’s research is a global endeavour, so remains our focus in this issue, both in the original research we publish and in our news coverage. This issue includes seven interesting articles signed by national and international authors. Among them, not only several senior academics and researchers (Pauline Galea, Cristiana Sebu, Sandro Lanfranco, Silvio Attard, Kadir Erkan, Giuseppe Di Giovanni, Edward Duca), but more importantly a good number of students and early career researchers (Christopher Zerafa, Andrea Francesca Bellia, Tugçe Talay, Christabelle Tonna, Luke Saliba and Francesca Borg).
