Prospective University of Malta applicants who intend to start their tertiary education journey in October 2020 may join one of a series of webinars whereby they will get the opportunity to have their queries addressed from the comfort of their home.
With the wellbeing of everyone in mind, and in view of current COVID-19 health measures, the University鈥檚 Student Advisory 福利在线免费 (SAS) chose to host these webinars as a safe way to guide participants through the timeline for entry, and explain changes relevant to applicants while giving insight into what being a UM student entails.
Each webinar is held via Zoom, and may be attended using a computer or handheld device. Upon registration, a link to the virtual meeting room and meeting ID will be provided to the prospective student.
Other than the four initial webinars planned with 50 participants each to allow time to answer individual questions, which are fully-booked, SAS is now planning on adding more webinars to reach all those interested in applying to UM.
Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, all the usual services offered by SAS have been provided in a virtual setting. Phone calls are, however, still being answered 鈥 to ensure peace of mind for these prospective students.
鈥淎t SAS we were already having discussions about how to develop the use of technology to increase the range of the services we offer. The outbreak of COVID-19 has helped us make this leap and although in the beginning it took some time to get used to, we are glad to say that all our services have been running smoothly online for about two months now. It鈥檚 business as usual for us, just in a different format鈥, said Ms Lorleen Farrugia from SAS.
