Prof. Yannakakis has recently joined the editorial team of IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation - the top ranking journal for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence research with an impact factor of 11.1.
Founded by evolutionary computation pioneer Dr. David B. Fogel in 1996, the journal has grown into one of the most impactful in computer science, publishing original papers in evolutionary computation and related areas including nature-inspired algorithms, population-based methods, and optimisation where selection and variation are integral.
Prof. Yannakakis joins a global editorial team that includes leading researchers from universities ranging from Queen Mary University of London all the way to Tsinghua University in China, and now, the University of Malta.
His appointment is testament to the progress, esteem, and ultimately the impact of the research being undertaken at the University of Malta in particular to the areas of evolutionary computation and machine learning at large.
