This week, KSU published the Pandemic Response Policy, which aims to provide a reflection on the reactions and opinions of the students at the University of Malta and G.F. Abela Junior College over the measures and alternatives utilised during the academic year 2019/2020.
COVID-19 brought about the need for a rapid response and a new way of teaching, learning and assessing, prioritising the health of students, academics and staff, whilst also ensuring that UM maintains its academic standards.
The Pandemic Response Policy documents the experience of students at UM during the past year, together with a set of proposals, based on the feedback gathered through the SALT Survey conducted by UM and the Pandemic Response Feedback Form conducted by KSU, aimed at aiding the University in the steps to be taken to improve the systems employed during the 2019/2020 academic year.
KSU also presented this document to the University of Malta Senate, on Thursday 17 of September. KSU appealed to academics to utilise the document to maintain a high standard of research-led, student-centred education over the upcoming academic year, whilst also prioritising the health of students, academics, and staff.
