, an atmospheric chemist from the has been invited by the Editor-in-Chief of the international, peer-reviewed (JESEE) to become a member of the Editorial Review Board (see link hereunder). This is the official journal of the International Society of Exposure Science (ISES).
The ISES seeks to advance exposure science by looking at the complex inter-relationships between human, ecosystems, wildlife, chemical, biological, and physical agents, and other stressors through new methodologies, measurements and models.
In order to accomplish this, multi-disciplinary expertise is required in different geographical areas. The European branch of the ISES has the objective to build and promote a European strategy for exposure science in the 21st century. The scope is to close knowledge gaps, build science-based and operational data and methods, foster interaction of disciplines involved in exposure science, and mainstreaming exposure information in decision-making by different stakeholders. In fact, more research is needed to strengthen the impact of exposure science on human health and environmental policies.
The JESEE publishes high-quality, original research articles, reviews and commentaries that enhance the understanding of the relationship between environmental exposure and human health. The JESEE strives to promote the development of novel exposure science tools that can facilitate the protection of human health.
Dr Aquilina is an active member of the European branch of the ISES given his experience in personal exposure measurement and modelling to a suite of challenging pollutants that are of a health concern in various microenvironments.
