The Publisher Frontiers has pioneered an in-house Open Science technology platform. This includes a Collaborative Peer Review Platform, a Digital Editorial Office, article-level metrics and AIRA, an Artificial Intelligence Review Assistant. A common goal across all Frontiers journals is to continuously empower the academic community with innovative solutions that improve how science is published, evaluated and communicated to researchers, innovators and the public.
Professor Borg and colleagues shall work on the topic related to "The erythroid transcriptional program and functional genomics of erythropoiesis鈥 and will be accepting papers from the international community as from the beginning of 2021. The collection of articles being proposed aims to unravel the inner works of both transcriptional programs present in erythropoiesis as well as important genomic studies concerning both human and other cellular models used to understand erythropoiesis and its intricate mechanisms.
The local group is currently engaged in one project funded by TOSFA, entitled ALTERED and another project as part of the Research Excellence Grant awarded by the University of Malta for 2019 to 2021. Both of which contribute significantly to the understanding of inherited blood disorders, as well as personalise medicine using pharmacogenomics and functional genetics.
