The award-winning IEUME project (Empowering Immigrants’ EU Social and Civic Participation through Innovative Media for Education), which includes the University of Malta’s Centre for the Study and Practice of Conflict Resolution, is entering its final phase.
The project team has recently finished developing a Skills Assessment, Validation and Recognition Package which includes tools for trainers, educators and social workers to gain insights on the learner’s progress in terms of knowledge and skills gained in the IEUME gamified training course. This will help facilitate the delivery of the training content and provide support on accreditation of learning based on ECVET.
The assessment tool is complemented by an extensive guide which assists institutions during their process of integrating the training package into their activities and provides suggestions on how to utilise the IEUME material as an adult learning component. The guide also suggests the most suitable pedagogical approaches to deliver the training to students and helps students to optimize their learning experience with the support made available through the learning platform.
Both of these packages (assessment tool and guide) are available in English while an executive summary and the assessment material is available in English, Portuguese, French, German, Greek, and Maltese. Before finally launching the project, the team is surveying migrants and other stakeholders into improve the usability and browsing experience of the training. The survey can be found via which migrants, trainers and other workers from the sector can support the optimization of the training’s outcome. The project promotes the integration of migrants in their host countries through online training on issues pertinent to the European Union and its values. This training is free of charge and covers topics such as the EU institutions, access to rights, political culture, civic participation, employability, and cultural heritage.
