Elsevier has just released the first edition of the International Encyclopaedia of Transportation, edited by Prof. Roger Vickerman.
Prof. Maria Attard, Head of Geography and Director of the Institute for Climate Change and Sustainable Development is the Section Editor for Transport Policy and Planning, containing 68 chapters. This Section is part of six other sections on various aspects of transportation. The Encyclopaedia contains over 600 entries and is one of the most extensive and far reaching reference works in the field of transportation.
Prof. Attard also co-authored two of the chapters in the volume, one with Prof. Kate Pangbourne (University of Leeds) on Transitions and disruptive technologies in transport planning and the other with Carlos Cañas, Ph.D. candidate at the University of Malta on Policy and Planning for Walkability.
Prof. Attard joins a list of highly distinguished international editors who managed all the different sections pertaining to this volume, under the guidance of Prof. Vickerman.
