EduAI is an innovative AI in Education programme created and developed by the Centre for Literacy of the University of Malta, in conjunction with the National Literacy Agency. Professional development sessions of EduAI have been held throughout the year for educators. Sessions for the promotion of literacy acquisition and development have been held with 8-10 year olds and their parents. These sessions involved the creation of AI puppets, AI-powered stories, literacy games and quizzes.
EduAI Summer school sessions inolving childen from Years 4, 5 & 6 were held in the beginning of August at the Qawra Primary School. During the sessions, the students eagerly participated in the reading of the fun, interactive, AI-powered story called “You can’t take an Elephant on the Bus" and other AI literacy activities involving text to speech and speech to text interaction, and vocabulary acquisition and development.
