The Institute for European Studies hosted a panel discussion on the Future of Europe with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania and the Parliamentary Secretary for EU Funds within the Office of the Prime Minister.
The event, held on 24 November at University (and live-streamed) tackled a range of issues from the EU and its response to COVID to the tensions in EU-Belarusian relations and the influx of irregular migrants being channeled through Belarus.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Lithuania, H.E. Arnoldas Pranckevicius, also spoke about the tensions in Sino-Lithuanian relations after Lithuania allowed Taiwan to open an office in Lithuania. Both Ministers also spoke at length about the challenges posed by irregular migration and the need for greater EU assistance in dealing with this issue.
