The Centre for Environmental Education and Research (CEER) has recently published the booklet ‘The ESD Imperative’, a 40-page booklet that offers an overview of the work that has been carried out by CEER over the years in its role as the leading entity of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) in Malta.
The booklet charts CEER’s work in pursuit of its mission across different arenas, including in schools, in academia, as well as within the general community. CEER’s initiatives in promoting ESD permeate across different educational contexts, varying in the levels of formality as well as in the targeted groups. The booklet features contributions from staff members of CEER, current students, as well as alumni of the Centre.
CEER endeavours to offer opportunities for ESD to empower citizens to actively participate in decision-making fora and in initiatives that promote a good quality of life for all. CEER offers a hub that coordinates ESD initiatives, increases the opportunities for ESD research, makes scientific and technological research more accessible and facilitates resource transfer and capacity building in Malta and the Euro-Mediterranean region.
Copies of the booklet can be obtained from the Centre. A digital copy of the booklet is also available online. [PDF]
