Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino met Prof. Dhanjay Jhurry, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mauritius (UOM), to discuss opportunities for further collaboration with UM, particularly in the area of postgraduate research connected to island and small state studies. Prof. Baldacchino, who is on sabbatical leave, is currently the guest of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at UOM. He is delivering a public lecture on 25 February, entitled 'Small States in a Big, Bad World'.
Prof. Jhurry was presented with a commemorative silver coin celebrating UM's 250th anniversary as a public university.
