Professor Charles L. Mifsud, the Director of the Centre for Literacy at the University of Malta, was a guest in the United Arab Emirates. He had the opportunity to share with colleagues from a number of leading universities and agencies about the innovative research and development work of the Centre in the areas of literacy education and digital technologies.
Throughout his stay in the UAE, Professor Mifsud visited a number of schools and conducted talks at the Museum of the Future in Dubai. The Museum is an interactive space for innovative and futuristic ideologies and services, and has a strong educational programme. It was founded by the Dubai Future Foundation and was officially opened on the 22 February 2022. Professor Mifsud had also the opportunity to visit the Dubai Expo 2020 where he met with a number of agencies promoting language and literacy services, and AI and robot-driven solutions in Education.
