The is a strategic project partially funded by the Interreg MED Programme under the framework of PANORAMED. The ultimate aim of this project is to increase the capability of the Mediterranean regional, sub-regional and local authorities, and of the research community to jointly assess and address hazards related to pollution and environmental threats in the Mediterranean Sea.
Within the ambit of the ShareMED project, UM co-organised and hosted an International Workshop for non-EU countries, which targeted to summarise achievements of the project. The workshop, held over two days: Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September 2022, gathered project participants and high-profile personnel from the Mediterranean region. This event, entitled Connecting marine research and boosting benefits to society, helped to share expertise, discuss challenges and possibilities for future cooperation. Over 50 in-person participants attended the workshop and additionally 60 followed online.
