On Tuesday 6 December, a ceremony was held next to the Portable Boiler to officially mark the installation of the Boiler on the University Campus. This Boiler was an initiative of the recently formed Malta Industrial Heritage Association (MIHA) who bought it from a scrapyard where it was about to be scrapped.
Short speeches were delivered by Prof Ruben Paul Borg and Prof Robert Ghirlando, secretary and vice-president respectively of MIHA, and Prof. A.J. Vella, Rector, in front of a small crowd of MIHA members. Also present were some committee members of the University鈥檚 Industrial Heritage Platform, of which, Prof Borg and Prof Ghirlando are co-ordinator and chairman respectively.
