This book problematises the intentions of early childhood education for sustainability (ECEfS) from two new perspectives – the context of a small island state and environmental learning across generations.
With its focus on early childhood education, this book helps us understand the fluidity of contemporary intergenerational environmental learning within formal and informal contexts from the perspectives of young Maltese children, their parents and their educators.
By taking young children’s ideas seriously, new perspectives related to young children’s environmental learning and the influences upon these can emerge.
Finally, this book provides new insights into how ECEfS can occur successfully in practice within the Maltese education system.
