Gabrielle Camilleri, a second year B. Sc. Pharmacology (Hons.) student has co-authored the paper "Safety of drugs used for the treatment of migraine during pregnancy: a narrative review", which has just been published in a peer-reviewed journal, Expert Review of Clinical Pharmacology (impact factor 4.1). This review provides an outline of the many drugs available to treat migraine in pregnant women and discusses their safety, as well as limitations and future directions of current research.
The project was co-led by principal investigators Dr Jessica Spiteri, Anaesthetist at Mater Dei Hospital and Eastbourne District General Hospital, UK and Dr Janet Sultana, part-time lecturer at the Department of Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics and Quality improvement Pharmacist at Mater Dei Hospital.
