The Institute of Earth Systems held a Staff Research Seminar last month at which staff from both its Divisions shared their recent research findings and publications. The aim of this seminar was to facilitate discussion and foster collaboration among staff members, and the last such event was held in 2020, prior to the introduction of restrictions on staff gatherings due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The half-day seminar, which took place on 8 February 2023, was attended by all the academic staff from both Division, namely Environmental Management and Planning, and Rural Sciences and Food Systems. It was chaired by Prof. Joseph M. Cacciottolo, Chairman of the Institute's Board, who noted in his introductory comments that he hoped to see this research seminar once again become a regular event in the Institute鈥檚 calendar.
As well as showcasing recent research work in their individual areas of specialisation, staff members were also able to present the on-going research projects in which they are involved, and to discuss recent developments on these projects, with the aim of identifying new avenues of collaboration in areas of overlapping interest.
