Three academics from three different institutions, Dr Josephine Deguara from the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education, Faculty of Education, University of Malta, Dr Liz Chesworth from the University of Sheffield, and Dr Shirley-Ann Gauci, lecturer at the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST), and also a part-time lecturer with the Department of Early Childhood and Primary Education, are collaborating on “The England-Malta early childhood collaborative projectâ€.
The aim of this project is to address early years issues, concepts and realities in England and Malta, and conduct small-scale research in the field of early childhood education. On 7 February, 2023, the team published their first blog, “The early childhood curriculum reform in England and Malta: Intertwining commonalities and differences in implementation, practice and beliefs – Tracing echoes of political history, agendas and lived experienceâ€, which together with more information about the team and the project, can be found online.
