Prof. Marvin Formosa has published an edited book titled The United Nations Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing: Global Perspectives (with Mala Kapur Shankardass). This important publication is the only available book which provides key reflections on 20 years of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing.

It notes that while some countries have made more significant strides than others with regard to improving the lives of older persons, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the urgent need for a United Nations Convention to promote and protect human rights in old age and accountability by all governments. 

Prof. Formosa is the Rector's delegate in charge of the University of the Third Age (U3A).
