The Rector, Prof Alfred J Vella invites University students, staff and stakeholders to for the University Forum on Enterprise and Social Impact which will be held on Wednesday 24 May, at 12:00, online. The Forum is organised in partnership with the and is part of the series of University Industry Fora.
The Forum on Enterprise and Social Impact will be led by experts from University academia, and external stakeholders and speakers will share insights on activities across the University and the economic area that reflect developments in this area. In this respect, the Forum resonates with the University of Malta's mission to empower the nation and to bring innovation into all aspects of operations, including management, training and research and also reflects the objectives on industry impact in the University of Malta Strategic Plan 2020-2025.
The discussion will be moderated by Prof Tanya Sammut-Bonnici, Pro-Rector for Strategic Planning and Enterprise. Pro-Rectors Prof Frank Bezzina and Prof Joseph M Cacciottolo will engage in the discussion, bringing out elements of curriculum, training and research.
Prof Carmen Sammut, Pro-Rector for Student and Staff Affairs and Outreach, University of Malta, will explain how the University may help foster social innovation and enterprise.
Ms Louisa Attard, Chief Executive Officer of the Academy of Givers and Inspirasia Foundation, will focus her intervention on the Academy of Givers and the role of enterprise.
Ms Sarah Kennard, Board Member of the Gasan Foundation, and experienced PR strategist will illustrate how a purpose-driven business is the way forward.
Prof Andrew Azzopardi, Dean of the Faculty for Social Wellbeing, University of Malta, will showcase the social impact the Faculty for Social Wellbeing is generating as a result of its various activities.
Mr Wilfred Kenely, Chief Executive Officer of the University Research, Innovation and Development Trust (RIDT), University of Malta, will elaborate on good governance in the administration of donations.
