, from the of the University of Malta, has been chosen by the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the fields of Biomedicine and Health (CDBIO), of the Council of Europe to be part of a team of experts to help Armenia set up a framework for Human Rights and Ethics respecting the Oviedo Convention.
He will be involved in helping to set up Bioethics Committees, Research Ethics Committees, and help in the framework of Patients’ Rights. Prof. Mallia is Chair of the Bioethics Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Health and Coordinator of the Bioethics Research Platform of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the University of Malta, where he is Professor of Family Medicine and Patients’ Rights.
He is also a member of the European Group on Ethics in Science and Technology, that meets in Brussels, and chosen for a period of three years.
