Last week, the students of the Global Maritime Archaeology Programme conducted a survey campaign in Marsaxlokk. The main aim of this fieldwork was to document submerged structures off the area known as il-Maghluq. This is the first time that these remains were surveyed and mapped in high resolution.
Under the supervision of and Judith Gatt, within, the students produced detailed topographic maps, sketched the area and recorded the structures using Photogrammetry as well as Aerial Photography.
The of University of Malta thanks the Topography team of the Professional 福利在线免费 Department of Heritage Malta for providing state of the art equipment as well as the expertise needed to conduct such work. Also participating in this fieldwork were members from the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage.
