The Library welcomes a number of new additions to Prof. Mario Buhagiar's bequest. The latest donations include landmark publications on Maltese language and linguistics by Gużè Aquilina, Joseph Brincat and Karm Fenech, together with works on Maltese poetry by Oliver Friggieri and Karmenu Vassallo, among other items of interest.
This special collection is continuing to grow thanks to Prof. Buhagiar's generous donations which cover a wealth of topics that will most certainly prove to be a treasured resource to a wide range of researchers. The latest additions are of particular interest to scholars of Maltese language, literature and culture. Some of the rare items added to the collection over the past few months include a run of the early 19th century popular series Mogħdija taż-Żmien, a collection of works by and about Dun Karm, first editions of a number of 20th century classics of Maltese literature including Gużè Galea, Gużè Bonnici and Gużè Ellul Mercer, together with a number of academic works on folklore and local traditions by Gużè Cassar Pullicino.
The collection can be consulted by appointment at the Archives and Rare books Department of the University Library and is open to all bona fide researchers.
