The CARS (Children as creators of Augmented Reality Stories) project kick-off meeting took place on 23 and 24 January 2024 and was hosted by the University of Malta, represented by Dr Ing. Lawrence Farrugia Caruana, Dr Leonard Busuttil and Dr Jacqueline Zammit. All six partners attended and contributed to outlining the work planned to take place across the five work packages that constitute the project.
The project aims to promote the use of Augmented Reality (AR) as a medium through which children can create and share their stories as part of their language learning experience. The project entails the development of training to support teachers in promoting the use of AR in language learning.
The project is co-ordinated by the University of Malta in collaboration with CYENS - Centre of Excellence, Universidad de Burgos, St. Catherine’s High School, Dimotiko Scholeio Agias Napas – Antoni Tsokkou and Colegio Aurelio Gomez.
