Recent UM Masters of Advocacy graduate, Karl Micallef has been selected for a traineeship at the EU Intellectual Property Office as part of the Pan-European Seal Young Professionals Programme. The programme offers young graduates the opportunity of a year-long work experience at the EU Intellectual Property Office as well as the European Patent Office (EPO).
The traineeship provides professional work experience in a multicultural setting, offering selected candidates the chance to engage in a range of collaborative activities and events. Trainees will receive guidance through on-the-job coaching from the EUIPO staff, along with both in-person and online training sessions. Karl Micallef, who will be starting their journey in Alicante Spain this September, shared a few words with regards to this new exciting opportunity:
"After three years working in Corporate Departments alongside my studies, I'm eager to pivot towards a domain that truly ignites my passion. Embarking on this traineeship with the EUIPO presents a unique opportunity to intertwine my legal foundation with the vibrant world of Intellectual Property. I look forward to acquiring hands-on experience that transcends classroom learning, navigating the intricate global landscape of IP law. This venture aligns seamlessly with my professional aspirations, equipping me with the nuanced skills needed to excel in the ever-evolving sphere of Intellectual Property."
