The exhibited works are the result of the 'LAS1009 - Nature Photography' micro-credential held in Semester 2 of Academic Year 2023/2024, organised by the University of Malta’s Centre for the Liberal Arts and Sciences. A total of 16 students participated in this immersive course, each bringing a unique perspective and skill level. While some started as total beginners, many without even possessing a camera, others were already budding enthusiasts with a keen interest in photography.
The course combined lectures, PowerPoint presentations, and practical field excursions to various scenic locations across the island. These excursions provided students with the opportunity to apply their newfound knowledge and skills, using their own equipment to capture the beauty of local nature and create artistic images. At the conclusion of the course, each student was required to produce a panel of 8 prints, which were assessed for their creativity, technical execution, and artistic expression.
The works presented in this exhibition reflect the students’ growth and achievements throughout the course.
