This initiative brought together the University of Malta’s Nursing Degree Programme and a network of esteemed European partner institutions:

The educational programme involved thirteen students and academics in an engaging and innovative learning experience focused on developing competencies in emergency and acute care settings. Through interactive seminars, clinical simulations, and collaborative group work, participants enhanced their skills and confidence to meet the complex demands of acute care in healthcare setting. Topics covered included: assessment and principles of care in neurological trauma; principles of difficult airway management and emergency drugs; and principles of care for burn patients in the acute care setting.
The University of Malta was represented by: , academic lead for the project; Dr Sharon Martinelli, who delivered teaching during the intensive week in Helsinki and , who contributed to the virtual teaching component of the programme.
